FAQ
What is Behring Founders?
Behring Founders is a program of the Behring Foundation aimed at people aged 16 to 24, fluent in technology and computing, and with a desire to become entrepreneurs. In each cycle, we mentor up to 10 talented individuals for 12 months. Those selected receive up to R$ 200,000 in grants (financial resources without equity participation – see below), as well as access to a community of entrepreneurs, investors, and technical hubs.
What does "Founder" mean?
Founder A founder is someone who creates something from scratch. They don't need to already have a company, a business registration number, or a ready-made pitch—but they do need a mindset of building. Being a founder means seeing a problem, imagining a solution, and starting to build it.
What are "Grants"?
Grants are financial resources we provide without asking for anything in return: no equity, no debt, no repayment.
How does the selection process work?
We believe that time is your most valuable asset. That's why the Behring Founders process isn't just a selection process—it's a journey of learning and exchange. Even those who don't advance should leave with something of value.
If I’m still in college, will I need to pause my studies?
It depends. In principle, yes; that being said, you're an adult, you know your life and can manage your time, but that... It will have to be arranged beforehand.
Do I need to be between 16 and 24 years old when applying or during the program?
Ideally, throughout the entire program you must be in that age range.
What if I still don't have an idea? Or a co-founder?
That's fine – we're betting on you, not on an idea/startup. Behring Founders is also for those who are still forming their vision, not just for those who already have a ready-made pitch.
