Behring Scholars program offers scholarships for talented Brazilians to study at the world’s leading universities in technology. Scholarships in Brazil
Our scholarships in Brazil are offered to students admitted to partner universities in technology programs.

PUC-Rio:
Ranked the best undergraduate Computer Science program in Brazil by Enade, PUC-Rio is located in Rio de Janeiro. Students admitted to the Computer Science program through the university’s entrance exam are invited to participate in our scholarship selection process.

Insper:
Located in São Paulo, Insper is one of Brazil's top private universities. Applications for our scholarship program open after admission through Insper’s entrance exam, for the supported programs (Computer Science and Computer Engineering).

Inteli:
Founded in 2022 to train the next generation of tech leaders in Brazil, Inteli is based in São Paulo. Students admitted to the Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Information Systems programs are invited to apply for the scholarship.

OBMEP:
The Behring Tech Scholarship is an initiative by the Behring Foundation in partnership with the Brazilian Public School Math Olympiad (OBMEP), created to provide financial support for talented students entering university in tech-related fields.
Each year, we offer maintenance scholarships to OBMEP medalists who are starting tech programs at federal universities across Brazil. More information is available on the program's website.
Scholarships Abroad
Our international scholarships support Brazilian students accepted to undergraduate programs in technology at universities abroad. We have partnerships with four U.S. institutions and also run an open selection process for any top-tier global university. Applications take place in April, with results released before Decision Day (May 1st).
Prerequisites for the program:
Nationality: Brazilian
Age: Be up to 24 years old
Universities: Any top-tier global university (that you have an acceptance letter from).
Financial need: Demonstrate financial need (partial or total) to enable studies abroad.
Field of study: Must plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering).
Scholarship coverage: financial support of up to 100% of the total cost of attendance, including tuition, travel expenses, housing, and meals.
Selection process: application, group discussion, individual interview, document review, and results announcement.

Ranked among the Top 3 universities for Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon is a private American university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The scholarship is available to Brazilian students admitted to the School of Computer Science (SCS) or the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).

Georgia Tech:
Ranked among the Top 10 universities for Computer Science, Georgia Tech is a public American university in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The scholarship is available to Brazilian students with demonstrated financial need. No additional application is required.

Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, MIT is home to the top-ranked Computer Science program in the country, according to U.S. News. Students residing in Brazil and admitted to undergraduate programs in technology fields are eligible. No additional application is required.

Ranked as the best university in the world by the U.S., Harvard is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Brazilian residents admitted to programs in technology-related fields at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) are eligible. No additional application is required.

Who can apply to the program?
Young Brazilians who have been admitted to undergraduate programs in technology at one of our partner universities in Brazil or at top institutions abroad.
Which fields of study are eligible?
All scholarships are intended for degrees in computer science and technology-related areas.
Does the scholarship amount vary by course or institution?
Yes. The scholarship amount is adjusted based on the costs of each university and the recipient’s financial need. Our goal is to make access to high-quality education truly viable.
How does the selection process work? When do applications open?

Can I apply if I haven’t been admitted to a university yet?
No. To apply for a scholarship, you must already have been accepted to the university where you intend to study.
Are there any requirements during the scholarship period?
Yes. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance, complete periodic follow-up surveys, and stay engaged with the Behring Community.
Is there any follow-up support during the scholarship period?
Absolutely. We hold twice-yearly check-ins to monitor progress, provide support, and understand each student’s evolving needs.
What other benefits are offered besides the scholarship?
The Foundation’s scholarship program goes far beyond financial support. All scholars are part of the Behring Community, a network that fosters connection and development. The journey includes exclusive events, mentorship, peer exchanges, volunteer opportunities, as well as access to professional opportunities, support funds, and several other benefits throughout their studies.
Can I renew my scholarship in subsequent years?
All scholarships are automatically renewed until graduation, as long as the program requirements are met.
Can I combine the Behring Scholars scholarship with other financial aid?
Yes. Receiving a Behring scholarship does not prevent you from holding other scholarships. We just ask that you keep us informed of any additional financial support you receive.
