Partnerships that transform: we invest in technology projects to expand opportunities.
Behring Network brings together technology-driven initiatives led by external partners that we support both institutionally and financially. We believe technology is a powerful catalyst for large-scale social impact. That’s why we invest in projects that apply technical knowledge to real-world challenges - in the service of social change. Through these partnerships, we foster solutions that address the urgent needs of Brazilian society and help shape a future of expanded opportunities.
PUC-Behring Institute of Artificial Intelligence
The PUC-Behring Institute of Artificial Intelligence, a partnership between Behring Foundation and PUC-Rio, marks a new paradigm for AI education and research in Brazil. In a pro bono project designed by the renowned firm Bernardes Arquitetura, the 3,000 m² building will feature state-of-the-art laboratories, modern classrooms, and an auditorium. Even before its inauguration, teaching and research activities have already begun at the PUC-Rio facilities.
As one of the first university institutes in the country dedicated exclusively to AI, it will bring together university professors and international experts, integrating education, research, and continuing studies. Its research will address both Brazilian and global challenges, driving innovation and socioeconomic development.
A key milestone will be the Bachelor’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence — an interdisciplinary program developed by faculty from mathematics, computer science, and engineering. The initiative reaffirms Fundação Behring’s commitment to developing talent and strengthening Brazil’s technology ecosystem.
Institute of Technology and Computing (ITEC)
The Institute of Technology and Computing (ITEC) is an initiative by Fundação Behring in partnership with Cristiano Franco, Marcelo Lacerda, Sérgio Pretto, and the Telles Foundation. The project introduces a pioneering model for technology education in Brazil, combining academic excellence with expanded access to higher education. With its campus under construction in Rio Grande do Sul and classes set to begin in 2027, ITEC was created to nurture talents capable of shaping the future through innovation.
Designed as a residential and immersive center, the institute will offer a full-time undergraduate program in Computer Science, featuring on-campus housing, personalized mentorship, and a world-class faculty. The model will integrate education, research, and entrepreneurship within a collaborative ecosystem that fosters the development of young people from diverse backgrounds.
More than just an educational institution, ITEC aims to train a new generation of technology leaders, prepared to create solutions with real impact, offering comprehensive support for students' cognitive, emotional, and financial needs.
